How hard is it to find a good painter?

If you find yourself in the situation of redecorating your house and you want it to look a little more sophisticated than the common design you see everywhere, you probably already found out that a good painter can be pretty hard to find. We just hope you found out about this before the harm was done.

We said that only the ones that want a more complex work in their apartment or house can really find out how hard it is to get a good painter because even the less skilled of them can successfully comply with easy tasks like straight paint jobs. The talent of a painter comes out only when something special is required, like a faux finish for example.

After we have heard a lot of stories about painters, we strongly encourage you to be extremely careful when hiring one to redecorate your house. It seems that asking them if they are able to do what you desire is simply not enough, because most of them will tell you that it is a piece of cake for their skill and the results will leave you breathless, in a negative way of course. So please ask for their portfolio, or at least to see one of their previous works.

Now we are not saying that all painters are like this, because we know for sure that there are some capable of doing real works of art. However because they are aware of their capabilities in comparison with other painters, these are pretty hard to find and quite expensive.
